Ria Formosa

The Ria Formosa is a wetland located in the Algarve province, in Portugal, which extends through the municipalities of Loulé, Faro, Olhão, Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António, covering an area of about 18,400 hectares along 60 km from Ancão beach to Manta Rota beach. Many consider it one of the most beautiful parks in the Algarve, and the city of Olhão is known as the Capital of Ria Formosa. Be sure to visit the islands and beaches with crystal clear water or take a bike ride along the coast.
