Hotel Cidade de Olhão is a modern three-star hotel, housed in a building of classical architecture from the 50s of the last century. It is located in the center of Olhão, which gives it its name, and which is one of the most central and charming spots in the Algarve region. The Hotel is very close to the various points of interest in the city, with the Barreta and Levante districts, as well as the markets and riverside area, just a short 10 minute walk away. In addition, it has privileged access to the islands of Armona, Farol and Deserta. Welcome!

The City of Olhão is located in the heart of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a unique ecosystem for its fauna and flora, its incredible sand banks, its extensive golden sand and its barrier islands…

You will be amazed by all the natural spectacle that the Ria provides to the city. In the various bars and cafes with inviting terraces, you can enjoy the Ria, its fantastic sunrise and sunset, and the unique tranquility that it brings us.

Great hotel. Really enjoyed our stay at this very nice hotel. The staff were brilliant in every aspect, our requests were dealt with immediately. Breakfast was good, our room (studio) was great, except for the bathroom which was small. Pool was very welcome.

Abbiamo optato per questo hotel a basso costo, con la colazione inclusa, e... moreIo e la mia ragazza decidemmo di visitare il sud del Portogallo, sia con l'idea di vedere i paesaggi che l'idea di stare un po' in spiaggia. Abbiamo optato per questo hotel a basso costo, con la colazione inclusa, e ne siamo rimasti completamente soddisfatti; fermata dei pulman in parte all'ingresso e stazione ferroviaria a 5 minuti a piedi, colazione buffet molto sana, pulizia impeccabile e personale super cordiale. I piccoli contro di questa struttura sono stati tre: -mancanza dello scolapasta -il letto matrimoniale era composto da due letti singoli. -difficoltà a raggiungere le spiagge. Tornando alla colazione, erano a disposizione uova sode, strapazzate, bacon, yogurt bianco ed alla frutta, miele e marmellate, pane bianco, integrale e fatto in casa ai cereali, affettati, fettine di formaggio, cornflakes, fiocchi di avena, latte, tutte le tipologie di bevande calde e frutta come mele, ananas, arancia, melone, pomodori e macedonia mista. Per non dimenticare i tipici pastel de nata, erano più buoni di quelli assaggiati nelle pasticcerie. Per quanto riguarda la pulizia, l'ambiente era profumato, ogni pomeriggio avveniva il cambio dei salviettoni e la sanificazione dei bagni privati, ed il cambio dei sacchi della spazzatura. La posizione è molto comoda, a pochi passi dall'edificio si trova la costa, con a disposizione traghetti a 5 euro per visitare le isole deserte con spiagge paradisiache, ristorante di ogni nazionalità ed i mercatoni di frutta e verdura. Tutto ciò per descrivere un'esperienza unica e molto positiva, mancava poco alle 5 stelle, consiglio vivamente! less

Keep doing what your doing!! From the moment we arrive at The Cidade Olhao we are greeted with a warm and friendly welcome that sets the tone for our stay. The Reception Team always go above and beyond to ensure we feel comfortable and well looked after. Every staff member we interact with are professional, approachable, and genuinely helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. A special mention must go to Fernanda whose exceptional leadership clearly reflects in the team's performance, also to Dueire whose smile, attentiveness and dedication to guest satisfaction were evident in every interaction, making our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you to the entire Cidade Team for creating such a positive experience – we will definitely be back! See you next year Denise and Brian 310 😊 less

Wonderful hotel Lovely small hotel. Spotlessly clean. Staff absolutely amazing credit to the hotel. Staff absolutely amazing credit to the hotel. Breakfast was good you choose a set time due to limited seating (in the lobby) Pool small and very chilly 🥶. But sunbathing area a lovely little sun trap. As mentioned in other reviews and not any fault of the hotel the dog population and the occasional barking. Also construction work which again on occasions it was noisy. Rooms were very clean again housekeeping staff do a wonderful job kettle in the room bring your own coffee and tea as not provided. Overall a great stay. less

The hotel is in a great location - 20 minutes to Faro and the airport, right next to public transport links and just a couple... moreWe had an excellent 5 night stay at this cosy and cool hotel in Olhao. The hotel is in a great location - 20 minutes to Faro and the airport, right next to public transport links and just a couple of minutes walk into the centre of Olhao and then on to the seafront. We really liked Olhao as a base to explore the Algarve with plenty of small shops, a plethora of good restaurants, but without the busyness of a more typical tourist resort. The hotel is small but that doesn't mean a compromise on facilities or standards. The small pool area is a sun trap throughout the day and ample size for the number of guests (we never struggled to get a sun lounger). It was a perfect space to relax and unwind after a day out. The rooms were clean and comfortable with good facilities and amenities for the price of the hotel. The staff are friendly and attentive and responded to our queries and requests straight away. This hotel is good value for money whilst still having a charming amount of elegance and coolness about it. We would certainly stay here again on a future visit to the Algarve. less

Cool colours, immaculate furnishings and bedding, suntrap swimming pool. We had a studio which comprised a sitting room, kitchen, bedroom and toilet with walk-in shower plus a balcony plus air-con in both rooms. Some of the design could do with a tweak here and there to cater for females to do make-up and hair. The full length mirror should be on the wall opposite the bed and there should be a socket adjacent for hair dryers etc. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom but no good for styling as the button has to be continually pressed. The light in the bathroom is also too poor to apply make-up and a shelf would be an advantage to keep toiletries on. The bed was super comfy and the pillows very fluffy but a drawer or shelf on the bedside tables would be appreciated. The staff were always smiling and very helpful plus the location is great for a good supermarket, and the bus and train station within 5 minutes walking distance. The main area with markets, restaurants and shops a 15 minutes stroll. Would definitely recommend this hotel. less
